Victim Services Unit

Victim Services Unit

Lenawee County Victim Services Unit (VSU) is a volunteer division of the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department and is available to all county residents. When an unexpected crisis happens, the police, emergency workers, or family members can request assistance from the VSU through the Sheriff’s Department Dispatch. Trained volunteers will go on scene or to a requested place to assist those dealing with the crisis. A crisis may be an unexpected death, a fire, a suicide, or one of many other situations where a person or family needs assistance. This assistance could include explaining what is happening during the crisis or what to expect in following days, calling family members, calling church affiliations, or helping with funeral home arrangements.

To request services from the VSU, contact the Sheriff’s Department Dispatch by calling 911.
